Tire Blowout Causes Truck Rollover
I was driving home from work one day, going about seventy miles per hour on the interstate. Everything was fine until all of a sudden I heard a loud BOOM. I fought to keep control of my truck but couldn’t do so. I saw myself veering off the side of the highway, but couldn’t stop it. Everything is a little blurry after that, but I remember flipping over and over until finally stopping.
As soon as I stopped, I made sure that I could move all my fingers and toes, since I had blood and dirt all over my face and couldn’t see anything. Eventually, someone helped me out of my truck and I could see that I was at least in one piece. It turns out that my truck had a major rear tire blowout and that I didn’t even stand a chance at regaining control. My truck had flipped end over end 3 times, and somehow managed to land upright!
The toolbox was gone, both doors were pinned close (I climbed out the back window), the roof had collapsed on 75% of its area (luckily I was in the 25% that survived), and all the windows were shattered. When people saw the pictures, they marveled that I only broke my collarbone and lost a few teeth…I shouldn't have walked away alive.
