Summary
Certain minivans fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.” The front passenger air bag was not correctly wired and could fail to operate properly. In the event of a crash, the air bag will not provide adequate protection.

Remedy:
Dealers will install a new wiring harness in the front passenger air bag system. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification is expected to begin during April 2004. Owners may contact Mazda MPV Recalls at 1-800-222-5500.
