Just Waiting At The Light

It was a balmy, but rainy April afternoon, and I was sitting in my car waiting for the traffic light to turn green. I had just finished another 12 hour day at my job, and I was looking forward to getting home and relaxing some.
I was approximately the 5th vehicle in line, and mind you, only one turn away from my apartment complex. Just before impact, I’m certain I heard a noise, a sort of high pitched ring in my ear. Then…Wham!
I remember clutching the steering wheel, holding on for dear life, as I smacked into the car in front of me and veered into the opposite lane of oncoming traffic. Luckily for me, no other vehicles were passing by at the particular moment, or it could have really been serious.
I was wearing my seatbelt, otherwise, I would have probably gone through the windshield. Needless to say, the impact was intense! It took me a few moments to collect myself, and as I turned around, I noticed the front end of a white cargo van literally in the backseat of my car.
So many things raced through my head at that moment. Every other day I pick up my kids after work, and 2 of them would have been sitting in the back seat. The moment I turned around, I just knew that if my kids had been with me on this particular day, they may have been killed.
I knew God was looking out for me that day, because not only did I walk away from that accident unharmed, but my children were not with me on that particular day.
