Hi Michele,
I am sorry to read that due to your accident, you're now 'timid' behind the wheel. There's no doubt that being involved in any accident can leave us with post-traumatic stress - to varying degrees. There is one suggestion I have that may really help you regain your confidence; have you considered doing an advanced driving course? It's worth a try if you haven't done one. It will help you get back the confidence you had prior to your accident and you will learn how to handle all types of road conditions and situations, and, it can be a lot of fun as well as quite interesting. Being timid can be awfully limiting - even dangerous. Why not give it a go? You have nothing to loose! I was in a major accident (my story is on this site - 'Surviving a head-on') so I understand how you feel. All the best, Scott.
