Deer Jumps in Front of Car

I was in upstate New York visiting a friend at college. I have never hit an animal before this because I'm from NYC. So I'm driving on some random road a few hours from home in my small Saturn sedan. It's getting dark and it's just my friend Tom and I in the car.
Out of absolutly no where, a huge deer jumps in front of the car and I just demolish it. I felt terrible, my car was partially damaged, and there was a mess. After finally pulling ourselves together, Tom and I dragged the beast out of the roadway.
Fortunatly I had some paper towels in the car. We wiped down the car and continued on our journey. We had a great story to tell when we finally made it to our friend's college.
