Claims Adjuster was Great

This happened in December 2007, when I had an accident that totaled my vehicle. I was actually given decent service by my claims adjuster, and was going to get a fair Kelly Blue Book rate for the vehicle based on it's make, model, and mileage. But I had recently had to do a major repair on the car, replacing the transmission. I brought this up to the adjuster and he said I should send him a copy of the bill, as this would effect the overall value of the final claim.
As it turned out, the insurance company (21st Century) pro-rated a majority of the transmission repair to the final payment, which added almost $1500 extra to the result. It was enough of a difference to make it possible to get a far better replacement than the base settlement would have made possible.
So a word of advice if you have to have a vehicle replaced: Be sure to mention any and all major repairs to the totaled vehicle within the past two years. Have those receipts on hand and easy to find. It may get you back more money. I'm grateful to my claims adjuster for bringing this up to me in the first place.
