If you have already chosen a car and know the price you'll have to pay,
you can start by entering that information into the auto loan
calculator at Edmunds. To get the most accurate results, you will also need to
know your state sales tax rate and the approximate cost of the title
and registration.
You will then need to enter the amount of your down payment. There are
additional fields to enter any reduction in cost available to you, such
as rebates, and trade-in values. The final steps are to enter the
interest rate you expect to pay, and how many months you will be holding
the loan.
Click the calculate button and the auto loan calculator will
present you with fairly accurate figures of how much your monthly
payment will be on the auto you have selected. If you haven't already
chosen a specific car for purchase, you can still make use of the auto loan
calculator.
The auto loan calculator at Edmunds also features a button you can use
to find a car to purchase. Have fun and choose the car of your dreams!
Enter your zip code and the calculator will pre-populate many of the
fields for you, based on true value market prices and available industry
data. This method is not as accurate as entering your own personalized
data, but it can give you a rough idea of what you can afford.
